I'm Far-Left in a Center-Right Nation.

In case you haven’t seen….

In case you haven’t seen….

I haven’t posted anything for awhile.  This is mostly because of that hate and intolerance that follows people of my mindset in this country.  Because of those of Soviet Russia, Red China, and Communist Cuba, the socialist name has been spoiled and destroyed.  They have taken the name to gather support from the people, only to exploit them further than the capitalist system that they oppose.

It is sad to see such close-minded and intolerant thinking in a nation that often takes pride in “freedom”.

A socialist is not necessarily completely against capitalism, nor is it a person against the democratic system.  A socialist is simply someone who wishes to end human suffering through government means.  People still need to work, people still need to provide for themselves, but young people shouldn’t be dying from the flu or poverty or not have the ability to be represented by a government because they don’t have enough time to go out and vote because they’re working 15 hour shifts just to get by.

If anything, people shouldn’t be angry at me, they should simply shake their heads and say, “He’s rather naive, isn’t he?”  In which case I would reply, “Those who considered democracy as a functional form of government were considered naive during the rule of kings in 17th century Europe.”  We can make more government run programs work, we just need to be motivated for them to work (much like a democracy).

However, if one is poor in the United States, they often don’t vote.  Why is this?  They are disillusioned with a system that has forgotten about them.  The current system only cares about turning a profit and not about human lives.  Its about productivity, not humanism.

I ask you this….What good is it in making a profit if we lose our humanity?

What good is it to provide for your family, if you can’t improve your own life with hard work and dedication?

What good is life if you can’t pay the very medical bills that were required to save your own life?

What in the absolute FUCK is the point of life if the government that’s supposed to represent you only cares about those willing to pay?

You need a college degree to get money, but you need money to get a college degree.

What in the hell is wrong with this picture?

Currently, in America, there is a large conservative push to lower taxes and cut government spending, thus making government “smaller”. Many of these people (who are largely the working class) believe that making government smaller and lowering their taxes will cure the nation of its huge debt problem and make the economy great again thus leading to an abundance of jobs.

However, as many of these people fail to see (probably because of the lack of decent public education in this nation) that limiting and shrinking the government will create a power vacuum in our nation. This void will probably would be filled with, yet more, big business, which many lower and middle class people hate already.

I believe that these “tea-partiers” (they call themselves this as they compare themselves to the Boston tea party, who protested King George III’s new taxes in the mid 1750’s) have anti-government feelings, because of the amount of influence big business has on our government (which severely limits any kind of reform that benefits the lower and middle class) and the corporate controlled news corporations (i.e. Fox news) that influence the uneducated people to think that “small government” will help bring jobs back to America. Because of this built up anger from the lack of government action caused by big business, these media outlets gather this anger of the people then throw it at the government.

Its disgusting.

The only thing that even has the possibility at standing up and helping these people is the very same government that they’re trying to do away with because big corporations (that are currently somewhat limited by the government) tell them to.

On top of all this, many economists say that the only thing keeping our economy from failing completely is government spending. People don’t want to spend because they don’t have job, companies don’t want to spend because there is no demand, so naturally the government has to step in and keep things from completely collapsing.

And instead of increasing the taxes the top 1% of all wealthiest Americans who control 50% of the nations wealth (and only pay around 35% of the total American tax income, leaving them millions (if not billions) of dollars to spend)……they want to cut government programs that help the needy (medicare, public education, medicaid, etc).

Honestly, I’m so sick of this absolute pro-capitalism and this illusion that you’ll get promoted in a dead end, minimum-wage job that keeps wages and benefits down and led us to this worldwide recession in the first place. I’m tired of big business getting tax breaks while education gets cut in half. I’m tired of people not having the ability to be educated, as I am myself, simply because they came out of the wrong womb into a poor household. Even though this information is readily available on the internet, people refuse to look it up, people refuse to listen, people refuse to open their minds because they’re too worried about making money and being promoted in their job. This mindset is creating a system in which the poor get poorer and the rich get richer.

Being a left minded, political, educated person, its almost a complete nightmare living in the United States right now.

"Lets say you make 8 bucks an hour and you work for 8 hours. That’s 64 bucks for you. However, you know for a fact that you sold 5 times that worth of goods. What occurs is that even though you are doing all this work, the guy on top is making all the money just because he hired you. Even though the workers made him what he is, a rich CEO who just runs things, he doesn’t work any harder than you yet he gets payed probably 500 times more than you. Capitalism is basically facism within a democracy. The End."

I got a bumper sticker for my car.  I’ll be sure to update on how (if any) people react to it.  I already caught an elderly man blankly staring at it today.

If we turn on any of the major new networks we can see one thing, major discontent throughout the middle and lower classes of America.  People are protesting the cuts of to government programs, the mounting debts, and just the overall attitude of the major political parties in power.

While many people are crying, “VOTE OUT THE DEMOCRATS!  VOTE OUT THE REPUBLICANS! CLEAN HOUSE!”.  This will simply not fix the problem.  During the Jimmy Carter years, people cried to vote in a republican, then during the Bush Sr. years people wanted to vote in a democrat.  After 8 years of having the low approval rating of George W Bush in office people cried for a Democrat.  Now after 2 1/2 years of Obama, the American people are talking about how useless the Democrats are.  It seems that no matter who is in charge, the American people are never happy.  While it is human nature to never be totally satisfied, the growing discontent for the government in the last 10 years is paramount.  I believe this has a lot to do with the economy (of course) but also with the lack of choice at the voting booth.

When we vote, whether for a president, a national congressmen, a state congressmen, and even with local elections, there are only two major choices, Republican or Democrat.  Sure there may be independents, but largely these people are ignored or unsuccessful in running for office.  Lets just look at the current composition of Congress….only 2 in the senate are considered to be independent while there are 0 independents in the house.  I believe people would be willing to vote for a minor party if they had confidence that their vote wouldn’t be wasted.  Alas, the current political system discourages any faith to be felt towards the minor party members because of the alienation of these small, political organizations.

Because there are only 2 parties to vote for, Republicans and Democrats hardly feel represented.  This is because of the large amount of population these parties must cover, thus watering down their total effectiveness towards satisfying political ideology of the voters.

Because of widespread discontent, lack of diversity in voting, and the lack of competition in congress, I believe a multiparty system should be set up in the United States.  This would allow everyone with a voice to be heard, instead of those with membership in the two major political parties.  All I know is that both the Democrats and Republicans are highly dysfunctional and corrupt and we need new political parties to step in.  Not to replace them, but to have a word and create competition that could lead to a more productive national government, along with proportional representation of all political views in America.

Because we have no major ideology conflict with any other nations in the world (such as what happened in World War I, the Red Threat, World War II, The Cold War, etc).  For the first time since the midpoint of the 19th century, I believe we can finally evolve as a nation without threatening our security and our standing constitution.
